Jam’iyyatu Ansariddeen Attijaniyya is a faithbased organization founded on Islamic teachings and the principles of Sheikh Ibrahim Niass (RA). It was established by our leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Niass (RA), on 7th January 1966. Since then, the organization has been actively operating in Senegal, Gambia, France, Mauritania, Morocco, Spain, Italy, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Under the directive of the Grand Khalifa, Sheikh Ahmed Tijani Niass (RA), the organization was registered in Nigeria and officially incorporated on 19th May 2016. Its objectives include:

  • Fostering unity within the Muslim Ummah
  • Providing a platform for interaction among Muslims, particularly adherents of Tariqatul-Tijaniyya
  • Establishing strong institutions for disseminating both Islamic and secular knowledge
  • Contributing to societal development through participation in governmental and non- governmental activities.

  Practices of the Tijani Order

Members of the Tijani order are distinguished by specific spiritual practices. Upon joining the order, an initiate receives the Tijani Wird from a Muqaddam (representative of the order). The Muqaddam explains the duties of the order, which include:

  • Upholding the fundamental tenets of Islam, including the Five Pillars
  • Honoring and respecting one’s parents
  • Refraining from following another Sufi order alongside the Tijaniyya. Initiates are required to recite the Tijani Wird (a process typically lasting ten to fifteen minutes) every morning and evening
  • Contributing to societal development through participation in governmental and non- governmental activities.
